Are you looking for help?

Hello, my name is Elizabeth Butler, welcome to this website. As a qualified and accredited counsellor and therapist, I offer a supportive, non-judgemental and confidential space to explore what is going on in your life. You can talk about anything that is troubling you, and how it might be affecting your wellbeing and your relationships with others.

Sharing what’s going on in your life in a comfortable and safe environment where your experience is heard and valued, might help you to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Our lives can become complicated, events may have unexpected effects on us, feelings can become overwhelming; being listened to by an impartial and professional counsellor can help to give you a fresh perspective.

If you feel tense, irritable, hopeless or upset much of the time,
are having trouble sleeping, or fear being overwhelmed by stress, depression, anger, sadness or grief, then counselling could help.

Deciding to see a counsellor could be a positive first step
towards addressing whatever is worrying or distressing you.

I offer counselling to the Maidenhead, Windsor and Slough area
of East Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire.

Maybe you are suffering from low mood, depression or anxiety?
Or struggling to adjust to a major change in your life, such as divorce, redundancy, illness, or the loss of a loved one?
You might be having problems in a relationship, or experiencing work-related stress.
Sometimes it can be difficult to accept something that happened in the past, or there are times when we can feel trapped in a cycle of damaging behaviour.
You could be feeling isolated, or adrift, lacking self-esteem or a sense of identity.
Do you just feel stuck?

Understanding yourself and your situation more clearly can help you identify and strengthen your own resources to handle what is going on, both now and for the future.

Frequently experienced difficulties I have helped people with are:
(For a more comprehensive list of issues I can help with please go to How I work.)

  • Bereavement, grief and loss
  • Depression

  • Redundancy
  • Relationship and/or family difficulties
  • Self Esteem
  • Stress

There are many different reasons why people seek counselling and psychotherapy; what unites them is the desire to explore how they can live a happier and more fulfilled life.
