Does life feel difficult at the moment?
Is it hard to talk to others about what you are experiencing?
Are you looking for help?

Home. LIZPORTRAIT2Hello, my name is Elizabeth Butler, welcome to this website. As an experienced and accredited counsellor and psychotherapist, I offer non-judgemental and confidential support in exploring what is going on in your life. You can talk about anything that is troubling you, and how it might be affecting your wellbeing and your relationships with others.

Sharing what’s going on in your life in a collaborative and safe space where your experience is heard and valued, could help you better understand your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

Our lives can become complicated, events may have unexpected effects on us, feelings can become overwhelming; being listened to by an impartial and professional counsellor can help to give you a fresh perspective.

If you feel tense, irritable, hopeless or upset much of the time,
are having trouble sleeping, or fear being overwhelmed by stress, depression, anger, sadness or grief, then counselling could help.

Deciding to see a counsellor could be a positive first step
towards addressing whatever is worrying or distressing you.

Perhaps you are suffering from low mood, depression or anxiety?
Or adjusting to a major change in your life, such as divorce, redundancy, illness, or the loss of a loved one?
You might be having problems in a relationship, or experiencing work-related stress.
Sometimes it's difficult to accept something that happened in the past, or we can feel trapped in a cycle of damaging behaviour.
You could be feeling isolated, or adrift, lacking self-esteem or a sense of identity.
Maybe you just feel stuck?

Understanding yourself and your situation more clearly can help you identify and strengthen your own resources to handle what is going on, both now and for the future.

I am offering sessions mostly online, due to changes in availability of the therapy rooms I worked from prior to the pandemic. A limited number of face-to-face sessions are offered in central Windsor, these are subject to availability.
Many people find the flexibility of online sessions makes it easier to access counselling, and provides continuity of sessions at times when attending in person isn't possible.
Please contact me if you'd like to arrange a FREE 15 min telephone call to discuss the possibility of working together.

Comments from previous clients (used anonymously and with their permission):

"I found you very understanding and put me at my ease. You made it easier for me to open up about some of the really hard things troubling me. Thank you."

"I got exactly, if not more, than I hoped to from the experience. I know people close to me who have been to counselling but not got what they wanted, so I feel lucky to have found a very good counsellor."

"It was very easy to make contact, Elizabeth responded quickly and was able to fit me in at a good time for me."

"I gained the skills, awareness and understanding of myself to be more content and positive about my life. I would and I have recommended counselling to others."

"My experience exceeded my expectations. I felt that the rapport that I established with Elizabeth really enabled me to make progress faster. I would absolutely recommend counselling... everyone should explore this possibility."

"I found it very easy to talk to Elizabeth, she was a great listener, kind and understanding."

"I wasn't sure what to expect with counselling to be honest, but I am really glad that I did it. I understand a lot more about how I feel ... and accept and manage things better. I feel so happy today - that shows the contrast I felt compared to when I started."

"I gained a sense of trust with someone professional who was willing to listen and offer support when I needed it most... and the questions I had in my mind were able to be asked judgement-free."

"Counselling was very helpful, I would recommend counselling to others."
